Team 1676, the Pascack Pi-oneers, was founded in 2004-2005 season, and has since grown into a World Champion level team known and respected across the entire FRC community. We have come along way from our first season and have won numerous events, including the 2017 World Championship alongside Stryke Force, the Cheesy Poofs, and Lightning Robotics. Both on and off the field, we pride ourselves in taking FIRST's principles, such as coopertition and gracious professionalism, to heart. Team 1676 is committed to allowing science, art and technology flourish in the 21st century and beyond, and equally as committed to shaping our members into productive, respectful, and innovative leaders of tommorrow, and spreading the values and ideas of FIRST and innovation is paramount.
In addition to being a successful team in competitions, we partake in various projects, programs and activities to help advance FIRST and STEAM in our community, nation, and world. We mentor FRC, FLL and FTC teams from our home state of New Jersey to countries such as Ghana, India, Nigeria, South Africa and Brazil. Additionally, we hold events such as STEAM Fairs, Legos and a Movie days, and FLL Tournaments in order to inspire younger kids to pursue STEAM and possibly one day join the team. Furthermore, we advocate in the National Advocacy Conference to help establish mentor based STEAM programs throughout the state of New Jersey, particularly in underserved districts. As a team, we are also committed to giving back to our community and being responsible, respectful citizens with good morals. From creating Ready Set Speak, a website that allows children with autism or apraxia to learn how to speak, to marching in the Relay for Life with the robot to raise awareness about cancer, to collaberating with West Virginia University to create a robot that allows paralyzed children to play soccer, team 1676 is dedicated to making the world a better place, one step at a time.
